On Tuesday, the NHL announced the three finalists for the league’s most valuable player, winner of the Hart Memorial Trophy. Tampa’s Nikita Kucherov and Edmonton’s Connor McDavid, both of whom registered 100 assists this season, are joined by Colorado superstar Nathan MacKinnon as the three finalists.
First awarded in 1923-24, the Hart Memorial Trophy is presented annually “to the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team.”
