On Monday, Ben Pope at the Chicago Sun-Times broke the news that the Chicago Blackhawks will host the St. Louis Blues in a preseason game on Oct. 5 — in Milwaukee.
The Blackhawks hosted the Minnesota Wild at Fiserve Forum in Milwaukee in October of 2022 in a preseason game and that game was a terrific (dare I say… wild) success. It sold out in less than one hour and most of the tickets were purchased by Wisconsin residents. That game was the first NHL game in the state of Wisconsin since 1993.
As Pope notes, the Blackhawks will apparently host the Blues in two games — one preseason, one regular season — that are not played at the United Center. This preseaosn affair would be in addition to the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field on Dec. 31.
