The 2024 NHL Draft Lottery took place on Tuesday evening. The Chicago Blackhawks entered with the second-best odds (13.5 percent) of winning the lottery by virtue of being the second-worst team in the league this season.
As the team names (or, in the case of Utah, non-name) were announced, the Blackhawks remained in their slot at No. 2 until the commercial before the third pick.
The Blackhawks did not move up. They will make the second overall selection in the first round.
The Blackhawks won the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery, landing them generational prospect Connor Bedard.
Chicago has nine selections overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, including seven in the first three rounds.
