26 points.
The Chicago Bulls blew a 26-point lead to the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight in a pitiful collapse during a season full of pitiful collapses. Indeed, Chicago won the first quarter 37-16 before dropping each of the following three quarters.
I could give you a rundown of what went down, but to be honest, I can’t relive it right now. If you’re curious, here’s the box score and play-by-play. Long story short, the Bulls allowed Chris Paul to go-off in the second half, and he gave the Thunder their first lead since the score read 2-0 in the first quarter with 4:10 left in the game.
After that, the Bulls were stuck duking it out until the final buzzer, and in typical fashion, took some questionable shots and missed key offensive rebounds. Sure, the refs had some terrible calls toward the end, but the Bulls ultimately put themselves in a situation where those calls mattered.
Anyway, here are some disappointing tweets:
Chris Paul scored or assisted on 22 of the Thunder's 27 fourth quarter points.

The Bulls have lost the last four games in which they've led by 18 or more points after the first quarter.

My literal job is to be able to start a discussion about this team right after the games, but even I’m speechless right now. We’re stuck in a Groundhog Day situation, and instead of trying to mix things up like Bill Murray, the Bulls are making me spend every day driving my car right off a cliff.
Remember what John Paxson said, nothing is changing any time soon and this team is committed to Jim Boylen.
So I guess buckle-up, clutch the wheel, and floor it.
