Paying Players During the Hiatus, Iconic Dunks Bracket, LaVine Helps Out, and Other Bulls Bullets

My significant other decided to show me some old crafts that her family had saved from her Girl Scout days.

I guess she was once asked to make a collage about herself, and on the paper, she put the following: Small but mighty, Pretty as a flower, Hottie, Diva, and Princess. Talk about the confidence for an 8-year-old, my goodness.

Anyway, so yeah, quarantine is going well.

  • Who knows how long the NBA will be out of our lives? No, really, I’m asking? Can anyone give me an answer? PLEASE!? Ugh. Well, anyway, the longer we wait, the more the NBA must deal with the repercussion of an extended suspension. No games mean no revenue, and thus, the NBA will have to start taking the proper precautions to prevent a drastic loss. Part of that means looking toward the force majeure provision, which (basically) means withholding payment to players for canceled games. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, players have been ensured that they will receive their April 1st payment, but there has been no word on what could happen to their paychecks after that date.
  • Obviously, I’m sure if the league begins to withhold payment, some players will have a few choice words. But it’s not hard to understand why the league is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Also, just to be clear, if the games were to be played at a later date, players would still be compensated. For a greater explanation of all of this, I just recommend your read Wojnarwoski’s report above. All I’m saying is don’t be surprised if you see the force majeure provision come up on your news feed over the next couple of weeks.
  • DUNK CONTEST BRACKET LET’S GOOOOO
  • https://twitter.com/chicagobulls/status/1241400677680775168?s=20

  • I’m not going to share the entire first round in bullets, so head over the Bulls Twitter account if you want to participate in the voting! I think Scottie’s dunk on Ewing will have to at least go to the Final Four, right?
  • Zach LaVine is doing some dope work by helping out his hometown community with a ton of meals!
  • In other LaVine news, he’ll be competing in a Call of Duty tournament tonight with a bunch of other NBA players!
  • In other OTHER LaVine news, he battled his dog in a sick one-on-one matchup, and it’s too adorable not to check out.
  • If you’re looking for something to get your mind off all the outside craziness, Sam Smith has been pumping out some mailbags.
  • Another fun read: Alex Kennedy for HoopsHype wrote about all the behind-the-scenes bets that players make to pass the time. I’ve heard plenty in the past about all the betting that goes on during the plane rides, but this describes it to a whole other level.
  • Lol Dwyane Wade.
  • Stephen Noh did amazing Bulls work for The Athletic! Someone hook this guy up so he can keep it coming!
