Quarantine has turned me into a worse texter than ever, but it should have had the opposite effect, right?
Before the stay-at-home orders, I’d often respond quickly to all my friends, but now? I see a message and think to myself “Eh, I’ll get to it later, I got nothing going on.” The problem is “later” ends up being like two-days late (Michael: Wow. Big same. I didn’t even realize I was doing that until I just read this).
Sorry, friends. I don’t hate you, I’m just dumb.
• Please, if you begin to catch word of players returning to their practice facilities, don’t automatically assume it means the league is suddenly close to a return. I just don’t want anyone to get their hopes up before the time is right:
Sources: NBA has informed its 30 teams that practice facilities can open May 8 if market is no longer subject to restrictions. Update: Total of six assistant coaches/player development personnel now able to supervise individual's workout; no more than four at one time.

• Indeed, I’m somewhat surprised to hear the Los Angeles Lakers plan to open up their facilities, especially with the area still very much under a stay-at-home order. The restrictions have been eased a bit over the last couple of days, but this area was a hot spot for COVID-19, and so this still feels premature. Just remember, the NBA has made it very clear that strict guidelines must be followed for any organization planning to allow player workouts. As long as these rules are followed, everyone (hopefully) should be okay.
• Thinking about taking a shot to celebrate The Shot. Who’s with me?

• The footage of this guy’s attempted interview has popped up on my timeline often over the past couple of weeks, and needless to say … I have questions. First off, how in the heck was he allowed to just grab Jordan like that? If a reporter yanked Kevin Durant’s arm like that after a game today, I’m pretty sure he’d be fired. Next, did he panic or did he think just yelling “you stuck it, baby” would garner an incredible top-of-the-10-o’clock news kind of moment? He even has a chance to redeem himself when Michael acknowledges him, but instead just emotes a hearty “YEAH” right back in Jordan’s face. Similarly, why does Jordan say “yeah” like that in the first place? I know he’s tired and all, but it literally sounds like I broke into his bedroom at 2 a.m. and scared him awake by yelling “QUICK, WHAT’S A FOUR LETTER WORD THAT SERVES AS THE INFORMAL SPELLING OF THE AFFIRMATIVE ‘YES!'” Lastly (not really, but I should wrap this up), are we sure that isn’t Newman from Seinfeld pretending to be a reporter?
• In hindsight, Chicago treated Derrick Rose unfairly. Much of the responsibility lies at the feet of the Bulls front office (who mismanaged a lot), but Bulls fans should have probably been far more patient. Indeed, it’s funny (in the annoying kind of way), that just a few years later, it became commonplace to sit-out an entire season with a major injury – for Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, it was effectively expected. And, heck, even when Kawhi Leonard did it for a mix of injury and personal reasons with the Spurs, he didn’t get as much hate as Rose.
"He is Chicago. That kid will do anything for the city of Chicago. And I’m not talking just the Bulls, for the city of Chicago."

• As a general philosophy, I tend to side with the “moving on” approach when it comes to re-signing former beloved players. BUT … I’d be lying if I said I flat-out didn’t want the Bulls to re-unite with Rose at some point. I’d just love to see him end his Bulls journey on a better note, and I can envision a world where he does fit this team eventually. To that end, he will be an unrestricted free agent in 2021, and while the Bulls’ focus that offseason should be trying to land a max player, they could very well have enough money to sign Rose to some kind of deal, as well. And, hey, he’s already been able to reinvent himself; I would love to see him lead the second unit in Chicago.
• You know you have nothing better to do tonight …
Nothing beats a Game 7. Especially when it’s followed by a current Bulls Postgame Live with @Jason1Goff, @KendallG13 and @Will_Perdue32. Tune in tonight. pic.twitter.com/n5COLTQw1R

• I think I’ve thrown a punch at the Knicks in bullets or on our social media every day this week, so I might as well keep it going!
From 1988 thru 2000, the Knicks, with Patrick Ewing, went 583-369.
The only Eastern Conference team with a better record was the Bulls. From 2000 thru 2020, the Knicks have gone 643-965. Since Ewing left New York, every team in the NBA has a better record than the Knicks.

• Hey, I know a guy on that list!
There have been 12 players in NBA history to hit at least 11 3’s in 1 game: Steph Curry (8 times); Klay Thompson (2 times); Kobe, Zach LaVine, Donyell Marshall, Damian Lillard, Marcus Smart, Buddy Hield, Kyrie Irving, Deron Williams, J.R. Smith and Dennis Scott.
