After the Chicago Bulls OT win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on February 24th, Coby White was asked about his congratulatory Instagram story to teammate Zach LaVine — one that featured a photo of a rather young, dapper LaVine nestling a basketball underneath his left arm.
I’m sure White’s message of congrats was sincere, but his use of the image … well … that was to have some fun.
“Yeah, he hates me. But, nah man, he’s lucky because I told him if we weren’t in this big pandemic, and I was going to Atlanta, I was going to cut it out and put on a cardboard and be in the stands going ‘yeah!!!’ Be in the stands with the picture – I thought it would be really funny. He’s lucky because I was dead serious. I was going to do that.”
Unfortunately, thanks to stinky-ass COVID, we will be deprived of a hilarious gesture by White at the All-Star Game. But, fortunately, White is a trolling genius and pivoted his idea just a bit!

Give this man an award. What award? I don’t know. Just give him one.
White teased more fun posts leading up to the All-Star Game back on February 24th, so I guess we should keep our eye out for any more comic gold. If this video does happen to be it, though, I’ll be more than satisfied.
To hear White talk about his delightfully evil plans for LaVine, go to the 5:25 mark.
