What to Watch For …
• The Chicago Bulls have found themselves in one hell of a groove. The team has not only held their opponents to under 100 points in two straight games since Zach LaVine’s return, but they have won both of their games by double digits. Vucevic and LaVine took full control in the team’s Friday night win over the Boston Celtics, with LaVine dropping 25 and Vucevic recording the Bulls’ first triple-double since 2017. The chemistry and workload balance continues to develop right before our eyes, and there should be no reason that they could not take care of this heavily depleted, last-place Pistons team tonight.
• Pop off again, Coby! The second year guard dropped 25 points behind seven 3-pointers against the Celtics. Let’s see if he can follow it up against this Pistons defense that allows the 5th-highest opponent field goal percentage.
• One area where the Pistons do hold the upper hand is in the free throw department. Detroit gets to the line for the 5th-most free-throw attempts per game compared to the Bulls 17.7 (dead-last in the league).
• Jerami Grant has found plenty of success against the Bulls this season, scoring 43 points and 26 points in their two previous meetings this season. After giving Jayson Tatum just 9 points and LaMelo Ball just 4 points over the last two games, however, I’ll be curious to see how they handle Grant.
