The Chicago Bulls are officially all in.
One day after signing Lonzo Ball to a four-year, $85 million deal, Arturas Karnisovas has given DeMar DeRozan his own three-year, $85 million contract via a sign-and-trade. Chicago will send out Thaddeus Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, a 2020 first-round pick, and two future second-round picks.

NOTE: We still don’t know if there are any pick protections, but we’ll update this post as soon as we learn more.
I’ll be honest, my initial reaction to this was a mix of shock, excitement, and slight concern. There is no question the Bulls are giving up a significant haul for DeRozan’s services. Future flexibility is now greatly impacted. But, don’t get me wrong, I’m still absolutely over the moon to know we are about to get seriously competitive basketball back into the United Center. It’s a mix of emotions.
We will have much more to talk about soon. I think it’s safe to say, though: THE BULLS ARE BACK, BABYYYYYY!
