After sitting out of Friday’s practice with a hip issue, Javonte Green is off the injury report.
While the injury wasn’t initially expected to be serious, it turns out the Bulls’ versatile role player returned to action on Saturday. He practiced both then and this afternoon.
With a matchup against the reigning No. 1 seed in the East on the horizon, the Bulls will undoubtedly need Green’s energetic play and stiff defense. The question now is whether or not they will use those valuable tools off the bench or in the starting lineup. While Patrick Williams ended the preseason with a strong showing, Green certainly looked like the more comfortable option with the team’s first group.
Also, for what it’s worth, Coby White was still seen with a brace on his left knee. Considering White participated in the final three preseason games after initially injuring that knee in Game 1, I have to imagine there aren’t any concerns about his early-season availability. Still, we might as well keep an eye on how comfortable White looks over these first few games.
