Less than 24 hours after the San Antonio Spurs shocking waived former No. 12-overall pick Joshua Primo, ESPN has shared the season why.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, the 19-year-old guard exposed himself to women on multiple occasions.
The San Antonio Spurs’ release of guard Joshua Primo — the No. 12 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft — stemmed from multiple alleged instances of him exposing himself to women, sources told ESPN.
…
Many NBA teams remain intrigued with Primo’s talent and potential, but are searching for a more complete understanding of the situation as they weigh the possibility of placing a claim to acquire Primo before he clears waivers and becomes a free agent Monday afternoon, sources said.
Primo announced prior to this news that he would take time to focus more on his mental health after previously struggling with previous trauma.
While we may not know what Primo is going through in his personal life, there is absolutely no excuse for these reported actions. The Spurs were 100 percent right in their decision to promptly move on from the guard.

It’s not often that you see a lottery pick waived after just over a year, but the San Antonio Spurs – whom the Bulls will play shortly – have waived their 12th overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft, Josh Primo, according to Shams Charania.
Primo, 19, was the youngest player in the NBA this season and played his college hoops at Alabama, where he averaged 8.1 points and 3.4 assists and was named to the SEC All-Freshman team before declaring for the 2021 NBA Draft thanks to a strong performance at the combine.
Primo averaged 5.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 50 games (16 starts) for the Spurs last season and has appeared in four games for San Antonio this season, averaging 23 minutes per contest with 7 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.3 rebounds.
The Spurs cutting ties with a reasonably productive (for his role) 19-year-old who they spent a first-round pick on last year is a head-scratcher, making me feel like there’s more to this story. We will see exactly what the deal was in the coming days and whether or not another team wants to take a flyer on him.
