The Chicago Bulls got Torrey Craig on a veteran minimum deal. Like … how?
If the contract looked like a steal the time, it looks like highway robbery after a few preseason games. Craig has been an excellent fit next to the team’s “Big 3” thus far, offering strong defense to go along with consistent offensive rebounding and smart off-ball movement.
During Tuesday night’s battle with the Toronto Raptors, Craig’s endless hustle on the defensive end, in particular, shined through. He had the highlight of the night after Gary Trent Jr. poked the ball away from Ayo Dosunmu and started the fastbreak. Rising for the layup, Torrey Craig swooped in for the chase-down block, epically stuffing Trent Jr. at the rim.

I mean … look at this!
Props to Adam Amin for also having the proper reaction to this play! What an amazing block, and I think it serves as the perfect example of what we can expect from Craig this season. He’s someone who plays with an endless motor on both ends of the floor, and the Chicago Bulls have desperately needed his length at the wing position in recent years.
