Quick update on Aramis Ramirez and Reed Johnson at Peoria yesterday: Ramirez started and drove in Peoria’s lone run of the game. He played the whole game, but as a DH – no real reason for concern in that regard, though, as he played 3rd on Friday, and now is just trying to get his timing back.
Ramirez went 1-2 with a walk and an RBI.
Reed Johnson was scratched due to the wet conditions, but did get a late pinch hit at bat (he walked). My guess is he’s just short of 100%, but the scratch was moreso because it wasn’t worth the risk in playing him. Wet grass = death for a bad back.
Both are expected to return, as scheduled, on Monday.
