I can, and will, overstate the importance of today’s win. In two of the three games, the Cubs started guys with ERAs north of 9.00. On the other side of the bump in those games, they were facing topline starters. Just incredible. Today’s win not only gave the Cubs a series win, but it gave them a winning road trip – and it was the first time they won back-to-back games in, like, forever.
Zambrano was great, Carlos Pena did it again, Marlon Byrd had THREE RBI from the three-hole, Sean Marshall continues to quietly dominate, and Geovany Soto continues to quietly heat up. But none get the enhancement…
