The Cubs pounded out a win in the first game of the series against the Cardinals, spoiling their home opener. Today, the Cardinals get their World Series rings, and the Cubs will be there to watch. Hopefully they can spoil that, too.
Chris Volstad makes his second start against Lance Lynn, who was brilliant in his first start. Volstad was only so-so, and will try today to look a bit more like the guy we saw in Spring Training.
The lineups are a carbon copy from yesterday, save for the pitchers. UPDATE – David Freese is a late scratch with a finger issue.

Game Thread and Series Preview
The Game Thread lives here. You should participate in the madness. Given the possibility that you’ll be blacked out on MLB.tv or Extra Innings if you’re not in-market for the FOX broadcast, following along the Game Thread could be a nice way to keep tabs on the game. And, of course, for those who aren’t into message board-style game threads, please feel free to use the comments on this post for your in-game commentary/outbursts.
The Series Preview for this series lives here.
