Javier Baez Homered Last Night, Let’s Watch It Together and Exhale

One home run does not a resurgence make.

But, let’s be honest: it had been so long since homer-machine Javy Baez had hit a homer that you started to forget what it was like when he goes deep. Thankfully, he rewarded our patience with another baseball-punishing blessing last night for the Iowa Cubs. Watch, and be delighted, as when we were young:

Baez last homered on April 28, so, yeah, it’s been a while. Baez also walked in the game, which was his first in almost a week. He struck out, but only once!

Although the pictures are from an earlier Baez homer, they feel appropriate here:

I read those pictures in my head, by the way, as, “Oh, hai baseball … GET OFF ME … what up.” Hope that helps.
