Javier Baez is in today’s lineup, though he’s no longer in big league camp. That happens from time to time, as we’ve already seen guys cut from camp playing in Cactus League games. (UPDATE: And how he’s been scratched. Understandable.)
Kyle Hendricks makes a rare Cactus League start today, as he’s been the “B” game guy the last two times through the rotation. I don’t take anything from that, by the way, since he was still pitching against Spring Training rosters. It’s just the way the schedule worked out.
Today’s game against the Giants is on CSN or MLB.tv if you have it.
Lineup:
- Dexter Fowler, CF
- Chris Coghlan, LF
- Jorge Soler, RF
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Starlin Castro, SS
- Tommy La Stella, 3B
- David Ross, C
- Kyle Hendricks, P
Javier Baez, 2B Jonthan Herrera
Put Arismendy Alcantara in there at second, and rotate Mike Olt and Miguel Montero, as necessary, with Tommy La Stella and David Ross, and that could be an early-season lineup right there.
