It’s just one spot, but, after his five-times-on-base night last night, including four walks, Kris Bryant is moving to a higher spot in the Cubs’ batting order, something we talked about this morning in the context of how pitchers have been approaching (avoiding) Bryant.
Tonight’s lineup:
- Dexter Fowler, CF
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Jorge Soler, RF
- Starlin Castro, SS
- Junior Lake, LF
- Welington Castillo, C
- Kyle Hendricks, P
- Addison Russell, 2B
Keep in mind, the Cubs are facing a lefty tonight, and, so far this year, Rizzo has batted second against most lefties. So, the only real switch here is flip-flopping Soler and Bryant. I definitely like that, given the way Bryant has been approaching things (and it might help Soler to see some more guys on base in front of him). But this might not be a permanent thing. Could just be for tonight’s lefty.
