Although he’s not likely to be a designated hitter any time in the near or distant future, Anthony Rizzo will fill the role tomorrow night for the National League All-Star team:

As Luis wrote earlier today, NL manager Bruce Bochy had a range of options for the DH spot, but, when you really got down to it, Anthony Rizzo sure looked like the best option.
Here’s hoping Rizzo knocks a couple bombs with runners on, thus securing the National League – i.e., the Cubs – home-field advantage in the World Series because the All-Star Game totally has weight.
