Cubs Minor League Daily: Minor League Jerseys Are Awesome, So Is A Weekend of Highlights

cubs azl spring training logoIt is time for another Minor League Baseball head to head style voting contest, and this one looks like a fun one – promotional uniforms.

Pretty much every minor league dons various unique uniforms for certain games over the course of the season, and in many cases those jerseys are auctioned off for charity during or after the game. Some of these uniforms are throw backs to older eras in baseball history, and some of them are playing homage to 90s sitcoms, popular movies, pop culture trends, or various other (often unexpected) things.

In the early voting the Myrtle Beach Pelicans are on the board at Number 18 with their Christmas Vacation look. Eugene checks in at Number 33 with a Porlandia themed plaid jersey, just ahead of Number 37 Tennessee with their ugly Christmas sweater version. Myrtle Beach is on the board a second time at Number 41 with a Superman-ish superhero jersey, followed by Eugene at 62 with those amazing Springfield uniforms that I linked in the Daily sometime ago. At Number 74 the Pelicans show up again with their Happy Day jersey. And there are plenty more where that came from.

So warm up your voting finger and spend some time over the next few weeks looking at the amazing apparel that could only come from the minor leagues and casting a few dozen votes for your favorites.
