Re-Live the Cubs Homer Party – Schwarber, Castro, Bryant, Rizzo, Soler, Fowler (VIDEOS)

Chicago Cubs

Yesterday’s win would have been fun however it played out, so long as the ‘W’ flag flapped above The Old Scoreboard at the end of the night.

But let’s get real: home runs are fun as hell. And the Cubs had six of ’em last night from six different players, which is a playoff record.

Moreover, although the wind was howling out to right, from my eyes in center field, only Dexter Fowler’s shot would not have been a homer but for the wind. Incidentally, his also may have been the most fun to watch, because you could see the parabola of the ball’s flight just keep getting extended – mid-flight – because of the wind.

Fowler’s was the final shot of the night, which followed, in reverse order, blasts from Jorge Soler, Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, Starlin Castro, and Kyle Schwarber. Now you must watch them all.

And the packaged up group of the six:

And the obligatory, absolutely hypnotic loop:

It does not get better than that Vine. It really doesn’t. Don’t try.

Lastly on the homers, which accounted for all of the Cubs’ runs last night, there are two great reads to check out: one from Cut4, which is just a funny send-up. Then there’s this great piece from Jeff Passan on each of the homers and the people who caught them.
