[Pre-Gamin’ posts serve as both your precursor to the day’s game, and your place for conversation about the game when it gets going. So, if and when you’re looking for a Game Thread on a given day, check out the Pre-Gamin’ post. The Cubs head to Salt River Fields today to take on the Diamondbacks, who will be wearing some variation of their hit-or-miss new uniforms.
And you can see those uniforms (and the Cubs), because the game is being broadcast by the Diamondbacks crew, which means the game available on MLB.tv. It’s also on the radio at 670 The Score.
Adam Warren makes his Cubs spring debut, starting the game and likely going two innings. Like Travis Wood and Trevor Cahill before him, the plan is to keep stretching him out as a starter for now, and then reevaluate the rotation situation later in the spring. And, like with Wood and Cahill, the expectation is that Warren will ultimately start the season in the bullpen.
Lefties C.J. Riefenhauser and Rex Brothers are also expected to make their Cubs debut second spring appearance in this one out of the bullpen.
Today’s lineup:

- Jason Heyward, RF
- Addison Russell, SS
