This is my as-promised in-ballpark post, as I peck away on my phone. Forgive the brevity.
Thankfully for me, if not the Cubs, I can safely keep this short. Called up starter Brian Matusz did not have a great debut tonight, giving up two-run homers in each of the first three innings. And there did not appear to be any flukiness to it either, as he was not missing bats, was all over the place, and the balls were very well struck. It’s often hard to tell how a pitcher looked from the bleachers. Tonight it was not hard.
Now we’ll see what the Cubs choose to do with Matusz, who may not be long for the roster.
All right. Back to the game. If I have to. [adinserter block=”1″]
