For all the talk of the Dodgers wanting a right-handed bat to add to their lineup, I sure see them connected to a lot of lefty outfielders. Like this:
#Dodgers well-positioned to land Jay Bruce or Josh Reddick in the next 24 hours.

Correcting earlier item: #Mets are, in fact, still in mix on Jay Bruce. If #Dodgers get Reddick, Mets could be landing spot for Bruce.

Bruce was scratched from the Reds’ lineup today, so it’s safe to say talks are progressing there with *some* team. The Cubs were briefly attached to him, but have not come up in connection with him lately. I don’t expect anything there; but there’s still a tangential impact to the Cubs, given the possible weakening (but long-term strengthening) of an NL Central team, and also the possible destination.
As for Reddick, it’s interesting to note that when Jon Heyman yesterday reported that the Cubs were out, he also said the Dodgers were not likely:
something heard: reddick is not too likely to go to dodgers, wont be going to cubs

I’d say each outfielder is a fair bet to be dealt before tomorrow’s deadline, so we’ll keep following.[adinserter block=”1″]
