The Cubs have been rolling lately, with contributions up and down the lineup.
Today, the lineup looks most normal, with a few notable exceptions. Let’s check it out.

Willson Contreras gets a break from catching, after taking in three straight from behind the plate, but he’ll remain in the lineup in left field after a big game yesterday (2-3, BB). With an off-day tomorrow, followed by starts from Jon Lester and Jake Arrieta on Friday and Saturday, Contreras will probably get a nice long break from catching.
Addison Russell also gets the day off with Javy Baez covering for him at shortstop. I’d tell you that the ability to have such a capable back up shortstop is invaluable, but you already know that.
John Lackey takes the mound, Ben Zobrist bats cleanup, and we’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ for you closer to game time.
