Pre-Gamin’: Brewers at Cubs (1:20 CT) – Lineup, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

wrigley stands crowdThe last time we saw Kyle Hendricks on the mound, he threw eight no-hit innings against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium before Jeremy Hazelbaker spoiled the party with a two-strike homer to start the ninth.

Who’s up for an encore performance?

Hendricks is 1-1 in three starts with a 3.31 ERA, 3.2 K/BB ratio and 1.04 WHIP in 16.1 innings against the Brewers this season. Active Brewers haven’t had much success against the Cy Young candidate, owning a .173/.218/.231 slash line in 110 plate appearances. Center fielder Domingo Santana has had the roughest luck against Hendricks, going 0-for-8 with seven strikeouts.

Opposing Hendricks is Wily Peralta, who has pitched to a 3.50 ERA/4.31 FIP/3.69 xFIP since returning to the big league club on August 9. In the 13 starts prior to his demotion to the minors, Peralta’s pitching slash featured a 6.68 ERA/5.59 FIP/4.81 xFIP.

Cubs batters own a collective .289/.361/.559 slash line in 166 plate appearances against Peralta. The Cubs have a trio of lefties who seem to have his number. Anthony Rizzo is 16-for-32 against Peralta with seven home runs. Miguel Montero is hitting .357 in 14 at-bats. Jason Heyward is 6-for-22 with a pair of doubles.

First pitch is at 1:20. Let’s see if Hendricks can get the offensive support with the return of the regulars to get a series split at home.
