As we discussed earlier today, despite a recent long 0-fer streak, Kyle Schwarber has actually performed relatively well during that stretch – tons of walks, almost no strikeouts, and a whole lot of hard contact without the results you’d expect.
Tonight, he had some more hard contact. So much hard contact that the wind didn’t really matter, the previous results didn’t matter, and the presence of a league-best defense didn’t matter. Nobody was catching this ball.

Sometimes when a ball doesn’t go out onto Waveland or Sheffield, it doesn’t *feel* like it was a monster blast. But those homers you see way up there in the right center bleachers like that one? They are deceptively deep. Extremely deep. The ball almost never gets up there.
