That was just a great game. What was there not to enjoy?
Jake Arrieta was great. He got into some trouble in the first inning, but if not for some missed calls at the plate and a botched double play ball, the Marlins wouldn’t have scored. And, thereafter, they did not score, as Arrieta really had it working tonight.
Anthony Rizzo was great. He not only hit a three-run homer, but he also added an RBI single.
Kris Bryant was great. He doubled, singled, and walked twice.
Jason Heyward was great. He doubled twice and singled, and generally continued ripping the ball.
Walks are great – each of Javy Baez and Albert Almora had unintentional ones!
Hits with runners in scoring position are great. The Cubs had six of them!
The Cubs’ bullpen did a great job of summing this one up:

Good times, my friends. Great times, I mean!
