With yesterday’s thrilling and bonkers win over the Cardinals, the Cubs bumped the Cardinals to 4.0 games back in the NL Central, and shrank their magic number to clinch the Central – with respect to the Cardinals – to 12.
But the Brewers, playing a “road” game in Milwaukee against the Marlins, won again, meaning that they stay 3.0 games back of the Cubs, whose actual magic number is now 13.
Get down, Cubs Magic Number!

The Rockies won, so the Brewers did not close their 2.5-game gap in the Wild Card race, while the Cardinals fell to 3.5 games back.
The Brewers will play again tonight at Miami Miller Park, which reminds me of an important question:
When are the Marlins going to get rid of that horrible thing in center field anyway? pic.twitter.com/ZeKW9ph3mQ

The Cubs and Cardinals play again this afternoon at 3:05 pm CT at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, where they had a regularly scheduled home game.
