Despite having a down year relative to expectations, getting benched frequently, and also missing big league team thanks to a temporary demotion to AAA Iowa, Kyle Schwarber’s power production numbers have certainly been there this year.
Today, he crushed his 27th(!) homer of the year, an oppo shot off of Lance Lynn:

That’s just big man strength right there, barreling the ball and letting the strength and bat speed do the rest, regardless of direction.
After the homer, Schwarber’s season line sits at .208/.316/.459, which is a one-percent-better-than-average 101 wRC+. Not where we hoped or expected him to be this year, but miles better than where he was in the first half.
