Anthony Rizzo is very good at baseball, and, as everyone outside of Chicago is increasingly noticing, he’s also very good at being a good dude.
Tonight, Rizzo was award the Major League Baseball Players Association’s Marvin Miller Man of the Year Award:
One of the @MLB_PLAYERS most prestigious honors is the #MarvinMiller Man of the Year Award.

The MLBPA describes the award this way:
“There is no higher honor you can receive from your fellow players than being selected as their Marvin Miller Man of the Year.
The prestigious award, named for the founding executive director of the modern Major League Baseball Players Association, is given to the player who most inspires those in the fraternity of baseball players through his contributions on the field and in the community. It is symbolic of players’ utmost respect.”
What an honor for Rizzo, who has become the unofficial captain of the Chicago Cubs, and one of the most important faces of the sport.
Rizzo was also honored this offseason with MLB’s Roberto Clemente Award for his success on the field and his devoted service off the field.
He deserves every honor he’s receiving.
