Today, the Chicago Cubs will play the Chicago White Sox at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona … and it’ll be broadcast live on WGN-9! That’s TV! The Cubs are going to be on TV. Today! The Cubs! On the TV! I’m very excited. Could you tell?
And in honor of our first good chance to actually watch the Cubs do their thing this year, let’s watch some other stuff, too!
MLB Network has continued their 30 Clubs in 30 Days routine this Spring, and you can see every individual videos right here at MLB.com. We’re going to check out some of the videos in greater detail below, but if you want to skip directly to one particular clip, here’s a partial list of what they’ve got:
Here’s Anthony Rizzo discussing the process of moving on from Parkland, the sense of energy in the Cubs camp, and the fact that, after beating Kris Bryant in golf yesterday, the former MVP owes him a free round … unless Lester is paying:

Also … it’s a shame they bleeped out Kris Bryant’s phone number, because we would already be best friends by now (which, technically, would make me friends with Bryce Harper, too … and that would’ve been just one more reason for him to come to Chicago – so if he signs in L.A. next year, you can blame MLB Network for not letting me become friends with Harper).
Next up, enjoy Javy Baez discussing the art of tagging, while wearing special Snapchat glasses that give you his view of the action. As an aside, there will just never be a time where I don’t love this guy’s confidence:
“If you’re early to the bag, you can move around and get out of his lane.” @javy23baez walks @KMillar15 through the basics of tagging out a runner using our Snapchat Spectacles! @Cubs #30Clubs30Days pic.twitter.com/XT9elVdCdM

Here’s Jon Lester discussing how he feels ahead of schedule compared to last season, and how the younger guys in camp look ready to take yet another step forward:
“I feel like I’m a little ahead of schedule, compared to last year.” – @JLester34

And finally, here’s Manager Joe Maddon discussing the energy in Mesa, and how much different Cubs camp feels this time around. He also talks about the physical shape the team is in – and how it differs from Spring Training 20 or 30 years ago, when guys would show up to get in shape – before ultimately getting into the defense from last season, the offseason moves, the bullpen, and Justin Wilson:
“We’re back to playing Mona Lisa defense.” @CubsJoeMadd is refreshed and ready to go for the 2018 season. @Cubs #30Clubs30Days @KMillar15 pic.twitter.com/cqPjAkrOBD
