For the most part, the Tim Tebow experiment has actually been surprisingly impressive. He sure doesn’t look like he’ll ever turn into a useful big league player, but the fact that he’s an above average bat (106 wRC+) in Double-A is truly unbelievable. That’s a very tough league and this is a guy who hadn’t played competitive baseball in over ten years.
But … yeah, it’s probably not going to happen for him, because sometimes, he still looks like a former NFL quarterback playing baseball and not a baseball player.
Case in point: this ball that bounced off the left field wall and then off Tebow’s head before rolling away far enough to give the batter three bags:
