The road could very well still be long, and we know the Cubs aren’t going to bring him back until he’s 100% and pain-free, but you celebrate the wins when you get them.
And this is a win:
Our guy, @ESPNChiCubs reporting Kris Bryant picked up a bat and took some swings off the tee yesterday. We will see today how things went. Follow Jesse at @ESPNChiCubs pic.twitter.com/xj6NzWKazd

We’ll have to wait to see the full update on how Kris Bryant felt during and after the swings, but for a guy who came back from his shoulder injury only to go right back on the shelf and then sat without swinging for a few weeks, it’s really great to hear he finally got to that stage in his rehab.
If he felt great, then you could probably dream on him getting up to facing live pitching within a week, and then maybe a rehab stint within a week of that. The start of September certainly looks possible if everything goes well.
But, like I said, we’ll see. For now, just celebrate the little win.
UPDATE: Yes, yes. Yes. Yes:
Best of all, Bryant doesn't feel any pain in his shoulder. #Cubs
