The Arizona Rookie League has completed the regular season, and it is time for the playoffs. AZL Cubs 1 finished with the best overall record in the league (38-18) and heads into the postseason riding a three-game winning streak. That means the Cubs should get a first round bye in the six-team tournament and advance directly to the semifinals. AZL Cubs 2 did not qualify for the postseason.
The quarterfinal and semifinal rounds are both one game. The final round is often best of three, but we’ll find out for sure when we get there.
I am curious, though, how well you actually know the playoff bound AZL Cubs 1 team. So let’s find out. How many of these six questions can you answer correctly without looking it up?
For the season, who led the team in homers?
Who led the team in stolen bases?
Who led the team in OPS (min 50 PA)?
Who led the team in strikeouts (pitching)?
Who led the team in ERA (min 25 IP)?
Who led the team WHIP (min 25 IP)?
I will help you out a bit. Since there are two AZL Cubs teams and it can be hard to keep them straight, here are the answers for AZL Cubs 2.
