News flash: team executives say positive things about their own players. Wild. I know.
In that vein, I wouldn’t advise taking anything extraordinary away from this comment by Cubs GM Jed Hoyer, but you can take it as another indication – in addition to those from Bryant, himself – that Kris Bryant truly is totally healthy right now.
“I expect him to have another MVP season,” Hoyer told Tom Verducci without hesitation. “I’d bet on it right now [with] the way he looks so far in camp.”

I also like hearing that the vibe in camp so far is that of a group of guys who got kicked last year, and then took that into their offseason as they prepared to come back this year.
Like I said, this is the kind of fluffy stuff you expect to hear in these situations. But it’s better than hearing the faintest whiff of issues percolating in the background, or, worse, a rash of injury issues.
