Today, Jose Quintana will become the final member of the 2019 Chicago Cubs expected five-man rotation to make his Spring Training debut. If all goes well, he’ll toss about 2.0 innings and be on his way to the bench to rest up.
Behind him, as Brett discussed earlier today, is a cast of regulars, including Ian Happ at second base. Happ hopes to draw more starts at second base this Spring, as he hopes to get more time there (and everywhere, really) this summer. David Bote is joining Happ on the infield, as is Addison Russell.
Victor Caratini, the apparent back-up to Willson Contreras, gets a start behind the plate and Kyle Schwarber is the team’s DH for the day.
