Thanks perhaps in large part to absurd winds today in Mesa, the Cubs and A’s played a bizarre one that yielded 23 runs on 28 hits and 3 errors. The Cubs did not win and Jon Lester gave up a buttload of runs, but it probably doesn’t mean too much.
Spring game or not, Jon Lester was pretty unhappy with his outing today. One sim game and one real game to go before the real thing.

Lester pulled after 2 2/3 innings. four hits allowed in 3rd, starting with leadoff HR by Hundley. Davis 2-run double eluded Happ, who took a curious route before making a diving attempt.

Steve Cishek had a good, clean inning, and Brad Brach allowed only an unearned run in his inning of work.
