The Home Opener is Here, and the Cubs Are Ready to Turn This Thing Around

Whatever the start to the season – a “really bad road trip” or otherwise – the Chicago Cubs home opener is one of the best days of the year.

I’m gonna go hang with some friends at Nisei before the game, I’m gonna filter into the most beautiful sports stadium in the world, I’m gonna watch some live and in-person baseball, and it’ll be a joy. Sure, there might be that familiar THUD we’ve been seeing early a lot this year, but I’ve just gotta drink it all in (figuratively and literally). Why would you choose not to have fun today of all days?

To that end, I’m gonna let just a little bit of the hype percolate for me. Today is an opportunity to turn this ship around:
