Fresh off being with his newborn kiddo in Colorado – which, itself, came only moments after he hit a walk-off winner on Sunday – David Bote is back with the Cubs tonight, who activated him from the paternity list.
Whatever you do, Dodgers … you should definitely pitch to Bote in the 9th if the game is on the line.
Bote takes the place of righty Alec Mills, who was added to be additional depth this week in the bullpen, but who was ultimately not needed for one of those multi-inning stints. He heads to Iowa to begin his minor league season (he was behind with an injury), and it’s possible he’ll work his way back into the rotation there at some point.
