The Cubs finished off the sweep of the Pirates today – UNDEFEATED IN THE SECOND HALF! – on the strength of a quality Jose Quintana start, and another offensive breakout.
That included a trio of homers from a trio of outfielders, worthy of enjoying this evening.
Jason Heyward gave the Cubs the lead in the 5th with his 15th homer of the year:

Juiced ball and all that, but still, that’s the most homers Heyward has had in a season since 2012. He’s up to .275/.359/.474 with a 115 wRC+.
The next inning, Albert Almora and Kyle Schwarber gave the Cubs plenty of breathing room, going back-to-back on back-to-back pitches:

That’s fun, and neither homer was anything even close to in doubt. That’ll make you happy when you get back to the dugout.
