Although he won’t be in a position to impact the Wild Card or NL Central races from here on out, and then he won’t be available in the postseason if the Brewers get there, at least Christian Yelich will not have his preparation for next season impacted by his fractured kneecap.
Great news for the #Brewers in that Christian Yelich will not need surgery for his fractured right patella: pic.twitter.com/SMzzSctJp3

Needless to say, Stearns and the Brewers are very happy with the outcome of the situation (all things considered). Would have been much dicier had Yelich required surgery. He will still seek a second opinion, but that’s not expected to reveal anything new.

There is a really wide range of possible outcomes with this injury, so for Yelich not to require surgery has to be considered a big win for the Brewers.
Yes, they lose their MVP the rest of the way this year, but there shouldn’t be any linger impact into 2020.
