Nothing that could have happened today at the first day of Cubs Summer Camp would’ve totally changed my internal conflict about the season ahead. I’m nervous. I can’t feel as hyped as I want.
THAT SAID … watching these guys crush BP homers into the bleachers at Wrigley Field? It definitely got me feeling as strongly as I have in a long time that I desperately hope MLB can find a way to actually make this full 60-game season (plus postseason) happen. I’m not naive to the risks, I’m just saying: I really, really hope it can happen.
Because I want to enjoy this baseball stuff, especially in games.
