Today was a big test for Anthony Rizzo in his return from the back tweak and his readiness for the regular season. He took regular batting practice and then live batting practice, and so far, the results look really good.
So good that he’s tentatively slotted to play tomorrow night:
Ross: "All thumbs up from today" on Anthony Rizzo taking live BP at Wrigley.
Plan is for Rizzo to be in starting lineup at 1B Wed night in final exhibition at Wrigley, if no setback.

Obviously we’ll have to see how Rizzo feels the day after the swings, but I dig the optimism here. I also dig the potential for Rizzo to get in at least one game of live looks against unfamiliar pitchers before Friday’s opener.
