When two teams go down for over a week thanks to a COVID-19 outbreak (and others have games postponed because of possible contact), the ramifications to the schedule are massive. And when you’re trying to get in all 60 games for each team by the end of September, things get particularly nuts (for example: 55 games in 52 days for the Cardinals).
Today, MLB announced its attempt to reschedule all those games, and the sheer size of the announcement itself underscores how crazy this is:

The entire Brewers-Cardinals series from last weekend, for example, will be made up as a bunch of doubleheaders in the second half of September. That’s going to be insane if the division race – or even postseason races – are close.
You see the Cubs in there, but as far as I can tell, that’s not really a scheduling issue related to the Brewers changes – instead, it’s just that Cubs-Brewers on August 13 got picked up for a night game on FOX.
