It feels like forever since the Cubs took the first half of a double-header. There’s just so much less stress going into game 2, right?
As I mentioned in the lineup post, the Cubs are facing Tejay Antone in game 2 of tonight’s double header, and he has been pretty darn good this season out of the bullpen, particularly against the Cubs. Let’s hope the offense wakes up and has a little more to say against him this time around (and a little more to say than the 3 runs they scored in the first game).
For what it’s worth, Alec Mills did pretty well against the Reds back during his first start of the season: 6.0 IP, 2H, 2ER, 2BB, 3Ks. It wasn’t an overly dominant performance, but you’ll absolutely take that in a 7.0 inning double-header! In fact, that’d be pretty darn ideal. Let’s go, Cubs.
