The Dodgers got the best of the Rays in a not-so-close game one of the 2020 World Series, but the Rays have Blake Snell on the mound against Tony Gonsolin.
Snell may not be the Cy Young award winner he was two years ago, but he is 2-2 with a 3.20 ERA and 19 strikeouts this postseason. He’s also a lefty, and while the Dodgers handled lefties just fine this year (113 wRC+), they were a lot better against right-handed pitchers (126 wRC+). That’s not much more than a silver lining for Rays fans, but at least it’s that.
I’m still a Rays fan and this is still anybody’s series. Let’s see what happens.
