Having already noted Marcus Semien, Tommy La Stella, and Cesar Hernandez signing today (and J.T. Realmuto, for that matter), there are a couple more infielders going off the board as the music shuts off.
Andrelton Simmons to the Twins, Freddy Galvis to the Orioles:
According to a source, Freddy Galvis has signed with the Orioles for $1.5 million and has no 2022 option. He also has a $250,000 trade bonus.

Shortstop Andrelton Simmons and the Minnesota Twins are in agreement on a one-year, $10.5 million contract, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN.

There’s not much of a direct impact here with respect to the Cubs, save perhaps for the other NL Central clubs that are looking at infielders. From there, the only impact is the increased movement in free agency could lead to lower-tier guys finally trickling to the Cubs, and/or the Cubs making more trades.
It is both odd and not odd that there was an explosion in the same market on the same day, as many of these moves were probably interconnected as teams wait on X so they can decide on Y.
