Chicago Cubs Announce Tentative 2022 MLB Schedule

Are you in a “there’s always next year” kind of mode? Are you still mulling what the 2022 plan might be? In either case, there’s a little bit of tangible 2022 that just dropped. The schedule.

This is subject to change – what if the Collective Bargaining Agreement REALLY changes things? – but the gist is that the Cubs will open in Cincinnati on March 31, and close at home against those same Reds on October 2. It’s an AL East year for the Cubs, with three Red Sox and Rays games at home, three Blue Jays and Yankees games on the road, and two of each with the Orioles. Ooh, and the Cardinals for the home opener? That’s fun.

There are just four White Sox games next year, an early-May set at home, and then late-May at G-Rate. Ten of the Cubs’ games against the Cardinals come after the Trade Deadline. I wonder if that will matter. Just something I noticed.
