ALCS Pre-Gamin’: Astros at Red Sox (7:08 CT) — Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

Chicago Cubs

The ALCS returns tonight with the series (tied at one win a piece) shifting to Fenway Park for the next three games. By that math, Boston could punch their ticket to the World Series without ever heading back to Minute Maid Park in Houston.

Of course, the likelihood of that happening isn’t very good, but stranger things have happened. Like hitting two grand slams in the same postseason game, a feat accomplished by the Red Sox in their Game 2 victory over the Astros on Saturday.

Houston Astros at Boston Red Sox – ALCS Game 3

Houston has looked like a well-oiled machine in the postseason, but the Red Sox threw a wrench into the gears of the Astros’ machine on Saturday when they backed them into a corner by hitting not one but two, grand slams in the first two innings to take a commanding 8-0 lead. Enrique Hernandez hit his third homer of the series in the fourth inning to make it 9-0, and that’s all Boston needed to down the Astros and even the series at one-all.

Now, with the momentum leaning in Boston’s direction, the series shifts to Fenway Park for Game 3 tonight. Eduardo Rodriguez takes the ball for the Red Sox in his third start of this postseason while Dusty Baker turns to José Urquidy for the first time with Houston looking to bounce back.
